Bluegreen Vacations Big Bear Village Ascend Resort Collection

This resort was perfect for our family getaway to the snow. Adjacent to the Village, there are great restaurants and shops in walking distance. The unit has big soaking tubs in each bathroom, and a fireplace in the living room and master bedroom. The kitchen was the best equipped of any condo we've stayed at yet. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but it looked nice. There is a great area where my littles could play in the snow and slide down a small hill; they had the best time and I loved that it was just steps from our door. We had to park diagonally in the garage to get the truck to fit, but we made it work. My only complaint would be the TV remotes are confusing, but overall it was a 99.9% perfect experience.

People are very helpful and friendly. They are very kindly. The conditions of the resort are excellent. Very comfortable and spacious. We have a great time even there was no snow but we have fun and enjoyed too much the stay.

Mediocre at best. We have stayed here before and this place has gone downhill and not worth the price. Check-in was not good (Denise attempted to check us in) After traveling with kids a few hours and getting there at 3PM the room wasn't ready. They had us waiting until 4PM to give us the key. Once in the room nothing worked (fireplace, lights are flickering, phone doesn't work) we had to call "engineering" a few times to fix some of the items. Fridge is old and super loud at night and the garage opener didnt work. At the pool they didn't have any pool towels available and overall the place is run down. Save your money and stay somewhere else. This will be our last time for sure. So many other alternatives that are way nicer than this run down hotel with lack of customer service.

This gated resort is beautiful. The area has lots to do and lots of places to eat within walking distance of the resort. At the time of this writing, there is a Jack In The Box within a 5 minute walk. There are little shops right outside the resort area, and a wonderful Escape room business within walking distance. The resort has a heated pool and hot tub outside. There are BBQ grills around the resort. Inside, the resort is amazing. We stayed in an “A” house so our garage was not accessible from inside our resort room. To get to the main floor, you have to go down several stairs inside. While not a problem for us, if you have trouble with stairs you should mention that to the resort when making the reservations. We had 3 bedrooms…each room has it’s own bathroom, shower and very deep and wonderful bath tubs (no jacquzi). The resort is a gated community, so we did not feel that there were any issues with security, and often just left our patio door unlocked when we walked around the area. It was very quiet. Just a word of warning…while this is NOT a reflection of the resort itself, it is important to note about the area: You are in the mountains. To get to Disneyland, Universal Studios, LA, Burbank, etc, you will have to drive down the mountain to get to the freeways to get to the cities. It is about a 45 drive around winding, curvy roads. You’ll go down about 3000 feet in elevation (no exaggeration…there are signs). Early in the morning and late at night we experienced very thick fog that make driving very difficult…at one point I could barely see the road in front of the car. This should not deter you from coming to this resort, but you should be aware. To get back to the resort, you driving back up that mountain. Just be careful. Pay attention to the weather forecasts. We were here in May, and because you are so high up in the mountain, it was still getting down to 20 degrees at night. Often we would leave with winter coats on and when we go to the city area switched to light jackets. For example, the day we went to Disneyland, it was 32 degrees when we left at 6am and when we go to Disneyland, it was in the upper 50s at 8:30am.

Our stay was amazing . Great amenities, great staff and a beautiful hotel ! The views are beautiful all around ! It was very clean and the kids loved swimming in the pool ! Thank you for making our experience so great ! We will be back !
