TownePlace Suites By Marriott Anaheim Maingate Near Angel Stadium

One of the worst mattresses I have slept on in decades. Room is very dated and with old fixtures it gives an appearance of being dirty although it was pretty clean. Convenient location to Angels Stadium and short drive to Disney and the convention center. One building is being upgraded hopefully the other will follow soon.

Staying 7 nights for business. I was eating my dinner before going to bed on the 4th night. A roach crawled from under the desk. Hotel manager switched me to another room and said no charge for 1 day. How would I know whether this new room is pest free? How will I know whether I’m carrying roaches home? Disgusted.

We’ve had numerous lengthy stays at this hotel over the years, and had very positive experiences. It’s clean, pleasant staff, great amenities. This last stay we were disappointed that they no longer offered the Belgian waffle maker option at breakfast…No more warm cookies in the evening. Also they no longer had the standard luggage carts…just a very small “sled” type contraption.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights with the purpose of attending a 3 game series at Angel stadium. Check in was super easy and front desk staff was very friendly. I got a room in the building across the lot on the ground floor. The room was large, contained a full kitchen and was very clean. The bed was comfy and I slept great each night. Housekeeping was fantastic (although you have to ask fur daily housekeeping ant no extra charge. The stadium was a 5 minute walk which was perfect and there were many fast food restaurants nearby just across the parking lot. My only criticism is that there was no safe in my room. I’m always nervous leaving my passport if there’s no safe but I had no issues. There was a sign that there was a safe at the front desk but I didn’t use it.

This was one of the lowest priced hotels in the area of the Disneyland Resort for the night I needed to say. It makes sense as the property is aged and purely for rest. While everything was clean, it is very dated. There are two buildings with the Towneplace Suites with parking before them. This is not a resort as there is no place to sit outside other than a small pool at the north end of building one. Room views are of a parking lot or a mix of commercial and industrial Anaheim. Location is great for Anaheim Angels baseball games as the stadium is within walking distance. That would save on parking at the stadium. For Disneyland, you'll have to drive. The best way is to go north on State College and east on Ball Road that will you directly to entry into Disneyland parking. Speaking of parking, it is unclear if this property charges. Their TripAdvisor listing states free parking, but the Marriott site lists $15 a day. For my one-night stay, I was not charged for parking. The room was clean but dark as the window was small, not letting in much daylight. The AC was running when I entered, and the room was cool. But the room smelt and felt damp. I am from the desert of Palm Springs, so the coast always feels humid, but this room felt even more so. The AC was noisy, but i don't mind that when I sleep as I like the white noise. The double bed was ok, too soft for me, no doubt it has been around a long while. These rooms had a small kitchen which I appreciates. There is a full freezer to have ice and not have to go back to the ice machine. I could hear rooms above, as I was on the ground floor. But it wasn't as loud as other hotels I've stayed in. Check in was a breeze, though they had computer problems because of the big crash, but i was checked in quickly. The host was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend a room in building two away from the pool as there were lots of kids and teens using the pool late into the night. Just know that it is a convenient to local Anaheim entertainment and a place to sleep, nothing more. Make sure you get a low rate as this place shouldn't be more than $125 which is too much but that is what hotels get these days.
