I stayed for six nights at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix for a business trip. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I found the average price of over $300 quite high for such a 4-star chain hotel, but I also realize that hotels in Phoenix and the US in general can become quite expensive. In sum, I would categorize this hotel as a solid 4-star hotel, very suitable for a business trip to Phoenix. For me, the hotelâs location is not really a strength or a weakness; it depends on where you need to go. The âdowntownâ of Phoenix appears relatively dead, so discovering much by walking is not an option anyway. I had never been to Phoenix before and expected a lively neighborhood in the center, but thereâs not much going on here. Anyway, it is certainly in the center of the city and you can reach the airport within 10-15 minutes. Strengths: - Rooms and public facilities are in good condition. I received a very nice upgrade to a suite on the thirtieth floor, which was a very pleasant surprise. But if the regular rooms are similarly well kept, the hotel does a good job here. The views also have nice views over Phoenix and the surrounding areas. - Breakfast at Carcara was tasty and the service was good. The same goes for the breakfast at the club lounge. - All employees at the reception were very friendly and outgoing when I contacted them. - Food for the conference rooms, but also at Carcara was good. - The outside pool was nice and heated. Great, even during the winter season. Weaknesses: - Cleanliness in the bathroom when I checked in was not fantastic. Not a big deal, but still something negative I noticed. - Club lounge breakfast is only served until 8:30am. I find this limitation not very customer oriented. - There was quite a bit of confusion about what my room rate included. I officially had a âcontinentalâ breakfast at the Carcara restaurant included in my rate, as stated in the welcome letter. However, the restaurant does not really serve a continental breakfast. Unfortunately, there was great confusion among all employees about how that should be handled. No one really knew whether I would simply have a credit of some amount at the restaurant or could just choose anything from the menu, and every single employee I contacted told me something different. One day, the restaurant was closed, and so I did not really have an option for breakfast altogether, because the club lounge only offers it until 8:30 am for some reason. In the end, all the breakfast items were charged to my room, and I had to get that settled during checkout (turns out that there was indeed a credit, and because no one knew that, they just deleted the items from my bill finally). Overall, an unnecessarily chaotic part of my stay.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference. From the moment I arrived, my stay was virtually flawless. Check-in was a breeze. When I got to my room, I was shocked to find a tray of sweets, a bottle of wine & 2 nice bottles of water waiting for me. They were sent by Ryan, the food & beverage manager. What a great, welcoming touch! My room was clean and well kept throughout my stay. I want to give major kudos to the entire bar staff. They not only kept up with a huge crowd each night - they rocked it! The drinks were consistently great, and there was never a line for service. I travel a lot & it's rare to encounter such a professional, friendly & efficient crew. Big business/conference hotels can feel utilitarian and impersonal. The Sheraton did its best to be warm & friendly. I'd choose it again.

Stayed for an extended weekend and found this hotel a decent choice. Location is good near lots of restaurants and venues. Itâs an older hotel but feels recently renovated. A/C worked great and bed was comfortable. My only real complaint was the shower and plumbing lines that were loud. Shower took a long time for water to run hot and pressure was not up to par. Pool was nice but not enough chairs on the weekends. Pool bar was inconsistent. Good drinks one day and weak ones the next; depends on bartender. Typical food and drink prices for a âresortâ way overpriced! All-in-all a decent stay

I stayed four nights while attending a conference. There were some good points and bad. My room was on the 5th floor overlooking the pool. The 5th floor is basically the first floor of rooms. The room was pretty updated, but with issues. The âdeskâ was a round table with the most uncomfortable chair to sit in. It made it nearly impossible to work on a laptop. The beds were comfortable. The hot water was barely warm. The biggest issue for me was the motion sensor on the air conditioner thermostat. When you woke up because you were boiling in bed, you would have to waive your arm in the air or get up and walk towards the thermostat to get the ac to kick back on. And, Iâm not sure if it was the location of my room, but every night my room would smell like French fries or grease. Some nights were worse than others. I will say, the short rib sandwich at the bar was outstanding. Although the location is only 10-15 minutes from the airport, I wouldnât stay here again.

There was a water leak on the first night that was fixed by putting towels on the floor to collect the dripping water. The fridge froze everything regardless of the setting, there wasnât a microwave, turning the water to full hot resulted in a lukewarm shower and there was minimal water pressure. For what this hotel is charging I expected much better, I have stayed in hotels 1/4 of the price of this that were much nicer.
