Front desk was consistently not helpful (both via phone and in person). Hotel was fairly tired. Masses of people waiting for rooms in lobby. Would not recommend nor stay again. I will say that the valet workers were very friendly and kind as were those delivering room service.

Had a wonderful time with my spouse and our family pet. Mobile is such a great city, since it was part of the original area of New Orleans, then Biloxi, and now New Orleans, The food and the staff were wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and located in the downtown area. Lots of restaurants around the hotel also.

I recently stayed at Battle House Hotel, and while the property itself was nice, I encountered a frustrating issue that significantly affected my experience. The poor lighting in the bathroom was a major issue during our stay. The dim setup made it nearly impossible for my wife to get ready for a Mardi Gras ball, forcing her to find another spot to do her hair and makeup. Because the desk had very few accessible outlets, she had to use one located behind the TV, which accidentally caused it to fall over. As a result, we were hit with an $800 charge for damages. While I understand the need to address property damage, I find this charge excessive, especially given that the TV was six years old. Additionally, had the bathroom been designed with proper lighting, this entire situation could have been avoided. I also wish management had been more accessible, as I would have preferred to discuss the charge before it was applied. The hotel could benefit from offering optional room insurance or protection to help guests avoid unexpected and costly charges Aside from this issue, the hotel itself was nice, but this unexpected charge significantly impacted my overall impression of my stay and future bookings. I strongly urge management to improve the lighting in the bathrooms and make electrical outlets more accessible to avoid similar incidents for future guests.

What a shame. This is a beautiful, historic hotel with so much potential and sadly, the folks working here are awful. Trying to plan stay, called hotel on 12/9 asking for a concierge. Was met rudely by Cindy who stated they had a concierge floor on 7th floor. Didn't know what a concierge was and stated "FRONT DESK" when I asked for concierge 2nd time. Ultimately, hung up as I didn't have bandwidth to deal with rude people on my own time. To my surprise, Cindy called me back. After explaining WHY I was asking for concierge, explaining that I'd be visiting in upcoming weeks for my anniversary and partners birthday annual trip, I pointed out the assistance I needed. I.e. Restaurant suggestions, reservation assistance as well as hoping the property could assist with planning for our special trip. The responses I received from Cindy were proof that she wasn't an active listener when she suggested businesses that weren't open during the day/time mentioned and places that were much too small to accommodate our party size, that I informed her of. When I asked if she could put notes in my reservation regarding our special trip, also why I wanted to speak with Guest Services or Concierge, she stated that she'd put notes in my reservation but anything else would require a credit card authorization form. I pointed out that I've stayed at Marriott properties for our anniversaries for the last 3 years and each property found a way to make it 'special'. I was met with "Credit card authorization form" yet again. When I pointed out that one property in Chattanooga offered drink tickets to their speakeasy, her only response was "We have a speakeasy down the road". After all of this and realizing that she either A. wasn't listening or B. Didn't care. I pointed out that I had loyalty status with Marriott and her single response was "are you Ambassador"? This was literally my first interaction with anyone at this hotel. Knowing that the conversation didn't sit well and hopefully wasn't an indicator of our upcoming stay, I opted to call back a few days later to speak to someone in management about the issues I had faced. I called and spoke with Lexi. Lexi seemed shocked about my feedback about Cindy, stating that Cindy was 'one of our best'. Lexi offered to upgrade us to a suite, which I had already put in for SNA's but told her I appreciated it. She then suggested that she connect me with the Outlets Director, Gary. She even proposed that they could open the Trellis room for us for our special lunch on Saturday. I told her I wasn't sure that was feasible nor a suggestion
