TownePlace Suites by Marriott Auburn University Area

TownPlace was very clean, smelled wonderful, and was beautiful; however, the mattress on the foldout couch was extremely thin, lumpy and uncomfortable. My grandson tried putting the couch cushions on it, but ended up in a crevice. The pillows were no better. Noise from the hallway and room next door kept us awake. If you go, bring your own pillows, don't get a room where you must use the fold out and bring some ear plugs. I hated to leave this review because the front desk staff were so kind and helpful. The closeness to the University was also a huge plus - not walkable but still close for driving.

If I could rate this hotel a 0 I would. I was staying there for almost 2 months for work. The last day I traveled I was in a hurry to get to ATL airport and forgot my trave jewelry box in the room. I noticed immediately after I left and called the front desk. The girl stated she would retrieve items and hold them at front desk. I had a full day of traveling and realized when I landed, I still hadn't heard from the hotel. I reached out to hotel, and they stated nothing was found and I would have to file report through Auburn PD. This occurred October 4, 2024, and till this week I get a response stating their investigation consisted of checking who accessed room, and they spoke to employee involved. The employee stated she didn't take anything, and investigation was closed. The manager and point of contact for Marriot has been no help and simply stated there is nothing they can do. Jewelry was over 10K. Worst customer service, not professional! The point of contact for Marriott was so rude and unprofessional stating how did they know I had the jewelry. I told him to pull cameras for the last 2 months of me wearing them. I have traveled for 10 years and stayed at Hilton properties with no issues. Marriott handled this incorrectly and with zero remorse.

We were happy to find a dog friendly Bonvoy property to bring our older large dog along. We were greated and thanked for being elite; however, I still had to ask for an upgrade and then also waters. We were offered points or snack. I also requested 4 pm late check out and she assured me my key cards were good till 4pm. I again checked w/ her in the morning and she oh yes, they are good till 4pm. Well 11:10 I walk dog and cannot get back in room. Housekeeping issues included: trash and hair in drawers - hair in bathtub; they left pillowcases for pullout but no extra pillows. The furniture in the living room was VERY worn and for a 2 bedroom the couch was a love seat size and very rigid and uncomfortable. The breakfast was adequate and well maintained. There is enough green space to walk dog - up over hill a big field too.

A great sized room close to central Auburn. We will stay there again. Our room had a tired sofa and the wings and bangs that happen with careless folks living in your hotel. The space had everything short of an oven. Our space was as large as a typical apartment in a European city.

Very conveniently located to Auburn and very reasonably priced. Comfortable and clean. Most importantly, the staff is all great! Every single one was friendly, meticulous, and eager to go the extra mile. Mary and JC at the front desk, were especially great. My kid is just starting their freshman year. I anticipate staying here many times over the next four years!
